Free Informational Seminars:

Preparing your estate plan protects your future and the future well-being of your loved ones. However, many people postpone the first step for far too long because the process seems costly, time-consuming, and confusing. We find that when people are informed of their choices for long-term planning, they find it easier to take that first step of contacting a lawyer.

A part of our practice is to help individuals, groups, and businesses understand the many choices involved in estate planning. We offer free 30-45 minute seminars providing basic information about wills, trusts, and the probate process. Contact us to schedule a seminar for your group or business.

About Oregon Probate:

When a loved one passes away, that person’s estate often goes through the court process called “probate.” The purpose of a probate proceeding is to distribute the person’s assets as outlined in the person’s Will. We recognize that navigating through the court probate rules can be stressful and overwhelming for family members who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Our office assists clients by effectively administering the estate, advising the personal representative, and ultimately overseeing the distribution of the estate.

We keep clients informed every step of the way, and help the personal representative carry out the person’s wishes. If necessary, we also handle will contests or other litigation issues that may arise.

Probates are handled on an hourly basis. However, generally our fees are paid out of the estate at the conclusion of the probate, so long as sufficient assets exist. Contact our office for more details and to learn our current hourly rate.

Clients often express concern about the probate process, and wish to plan to avoid the process. This can be addressed by arranging your estate so that probate is unnecessary. Our office also handles estate planning needs. See Our Law Firm's Estate Planning Page
