I grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin and attended the University of Michigan, where I received a bachelors degree in sociology with honors in 2004.
I moved back to Wisconsin after graduating and worked as a receptionist in a law firm in Madison, Wisconsin. I began law school at the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison, Wisconsin.
During law school I worked as a volunteer and later an advocate at the Dane County Rape Crisis Center. I also worked as a legal intern in the law school’s restraining order clinic, representing victims of domestic violence at restraining order hearings.
After graduating from law school in 2008, I was admitted to practice in the state of Wisconsin. I worked as a supervising attorney in the law school’s Family Court Assistance Project, supervising law students giving assistance to low-income persons on family law issues.
In August 2008, my partner Erik and I moved to Portland to escape the Wisconsin winters. Before studying for the Oregon bar, I clerked with Jill Brittle at a family law firm.
After being admitted to the bar, I joined St. Andrew Legal Clinic in May 2009, where I worked as a staff attorney, practicing family law. I handled family law cases, including divorce, custody, child support, adoption, and garnishment.
I enjoy exploring all the outdoor fun the Pacific Northwest has to offer, baking, and spending time with our dog, Bea. I am passionate about helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
